Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend came up fast! We weren't ready for our last camping trip of the year. Josh is doing archery hunting this September and opening day was Labor Day weekend. We went out to a pretty place called the "Northfork." We love it out there, we only saw half of our friends and family out there. Even Dux got to see his sister and his parents. Although his dad wasn't thrilled about him and his hyper personality, he was sure excited to see them. Almost makes you wonder if they remember who they are. Dux is a lot bigger than his sister, she was the runt, as her own told me. Purple Beach is where Dux, Addyson and I spent our afternoons when Josh was in the woods. He didn't get a shot but heard lots of bulls, and cow elk moving around. Getting an elk would feed our family clear to next season. It may seem horrible to kill an animal, a pretty one at that, but we've grown up on that kind of meat, and now that we are out on our own, we know how expensive it is to buy meat. I love just regular beef, but nothing like lean, natural, no processing, just good old meat. I'm sorta getting off track with my post, but we had a great time. Addyson and I made marshmellows, I didn't bring all the goodies to make smores, but it was fun just roasting marshmellows and having a hotdog. Well, Addyson didn't have a hotdog, since I grabbed the ones that says "HOT" on them. They were a little spicy, but she had lots of pancakes! Dux and Paco did good at guarding camp, we all slept well in our cots. We also had a flat tire! That was scary. Looked like we ran over a screw. We got it all fixed out at camp, thanks to the ones we were camping near. It took us three hours to get out to camp and three hours back, it was a long drive, but a lot of fun camping and riding fourwheeers, not to mention the drives in the mountains!
