drs appointment

Addyson's rash. shoulder - shoulder.
Addyson's stats:
weight; 16lbs 12oz
( I was wayyyy off! )

Today I took Addyson to the drs. before I left I took her out to the car and I then noticed I didn't have the car keys that have the house key on it. I was locked out of the house. I texted everyone that Josh works with to see if they could give Josh the message. I was almost in tears. I didn't know what to do. I considered not going to the appointment and just sit here and cry but I just sucked it up and took Addyson to her appointment. As soon as I got there Josh finally told me that he had the Jeep keys with him and they have the house key with them. THANK HEAVEN! I was relieved. Addyson's appointment took forever because Tri-Care (our insurance/hospital appointment center) messed up with scheduling the appointment we went in with the nurses and then had to wait all over again. We waited for the dr. for a long time, We didn't even get to see Addyson's regular dr. I was worried that her ears were bothering her but it was just a cold. I had him take a look at her rash (which I thought was an allergic reaction) and its eczema. So now I have to apply two different creams to it & if it doesn't go away in a few weeks she has to go back. I didn't realize my kid would every be the kid that didnt want to sit on their momma's lap. She wasn't to go, go, go! I was so happy that I got the house key from Josh on our way home. Now Addyson is finally sleeping.

Weight Loss

I've been doing well on it, Just once in a while I'll have a sweet. I haven't worked out, but I walk alot, just need to do more. I haven't weighed myself but I am sure I have only lost a lb. if that, but we'll see.

Bekka's first birthday party

Birthday girl, Bekka & Addy Bug

Addyson went to her first birthday party. At first she was shy and scared but she warmed up really fast. We learned she is scared to death of Cats. She hates them, so hopefully we don't have any little girl in the near future wanting a kitty. Emily & Chris did such a nice job with the party, and a good job grillin' burgars :) It was nice to talk to other women and make plans for future play dates, and stuff. Ashley and I hung out most of the time. Cassidy is getting so big. I wish I got a picture of all the little girls there and the one boy, but it was so crowded that we didn't get to see Bekka open her presents. Josh had a good time talking with the boys, and already made plans to have a big birthday bash for Addyson. More like something to entertain the guys with. I hope we have a good one for Addyson, four more months... YIKES!

lowering Addy Bug's crib

We finally had to lower her crib down a few notches. She is getting so tall. Josh went to get her from her morning nap and he decided that it was a must since if she leaned over she'd fall out. So here is her in her lowered crib, don't mind the clothed-less baby, I was in the process of dressing her. Afterwards, I was cleaning upstairs and had the baby gate blocking her so she wouldn't end up falling down the stairs and Josh gave her a bottle and she was lounging on her zebra. She loves that Zebra.

Daddy's Girl

Lately Addy Bug has been a complete Daddy's girl. She loves that he plays with her and how she can climb all over him. I'm not use to her being such a Daddy's girl, its usually Mommy!

Addyson's owie

Today while I was cleaning up a little Addyson was tackling the picture frame that holds a photo of her at 2 months. She was sideways therefore the picture frame smacked her right by the eye. She now has her first big owie. :) I feel like a terrible mom for not "watching her closely" but she needs to be independent and do stuff on her own, it's not the end of the world or anything, but at the time it was for her!

Look out World Addyson's coming through!

Uh-Oh! Addyson is now pulling herself up and standing. She has yet to walk while holding on to the furniture but I am not ready for this. I barely am use to the whole crawling thing.

Not only is Addyson standing on her own, she just got her first tooth! It cut through finally. Yesterday is when I finally put my finger on it after hours of her avoiding me of doing that, she is still protective of her tooth. Its her bottom front right. :) It's so weird knowing my baby girl has a tooth! Her eighth month birthday was good to her.

I never expected her to do all these things so fast. I'm glad Josh gets to share these moments with us and not be deployed or at school.

{I'll post pictures as soon as I get one & of yesterday}

Addyson is EIGHT MONTHS OLD!

~ Happy Eight Month Addyson Sage ~

Addyson is eight months old today. She's been cranky the last few days. She is trying to cut her first tooth. She's been drooling a lot as you can see. I've been brushing her gums with the finger brush and she took it away to chew on it. I feel terrible for her, I wish teething didn't include pain. Yesterday she pulled herself up all by herself. Addyson was in the front room playing and she is obsessed with the tv stand. Josh went upstairs and I ran downstairs for just a minute and Josh came down and was like "SAMANTHA, look at our daughter, quick" (as I am coming up the stairs already..) Addyson was standing! If it wasnt for gate I would have got a picture or have gotten it on video. She's getting too big!

addyson smiles.

Addyson loves to be in her highchair. I hate this highchair. It was FREE! That's the only good thing about it, but I hate that it always seems to be in the way when I am trying to clean, walk, or get Addyson, and BANG, I hit it with my toe, foot, leg, I'm sure all my bruises have came from this thing. Josh and I looked at one yesterday. I am going to be buying one of those here shortly that you just hook to a dinning room chair.

weight loss (no ifs, ands, or buts about it!)

I am pretty sure I haven't lost any weight but I am going to start working out MONDAY no, ifs, ands, buts, about it. I am tired of feeling horrible & the gym is what I need. Josh is on Addyson duty every other night until the one up the street opens and then he can be on duty EVERYDAY!

M.I.A.

I got word that my sister has been missing. She hasn't been to school this week and she never came home the other night. I'm really worried about her. I wish I could go home to be with her. The town isn't that big, ehh, like 200 people, give or take, so finally they found her, but she refuses to leave. Her boyfriend is crazy. I seriously wasn't going to judge but after he freaked out on her in front of his grandmother because my mom wanted her to come home, it's completely changed my mind. Praying!

Daddy's girl

Addyson is getting so big. I can't even get her to take a good picture. I snapped this one but of course snapped like fifty before this. Still looks like her Daddy.

beautiful

I love to mess around with pictures since this one out of fifty was the only one that she was looking at me I got to edit a little.

a good cry.

For some reason yesterday was terrible, it wasn't really that terrible but it was, if that makes any sense? I had to call in for a spot to put Calvin but they are backed up so I am glad I called now to get him a spot in an animal shelter. This shelter doesn't believe in killing the animals, which makes me a little happier about it, I was didn't want to give him up knowing they are just going to kill him. It was a little rough, I have never had to give up a dog before. On top of that, Josh has been driving the Jeep. The Jeep decided that it wasn't going to start anymore, so therefore the starter is out of it. The cheapest one is $64.00 & comes with a life time warranty for only an extra $32 which I've learned that is the best way to go sometimes & it isn't too bad but the better one is $132. We tried to get it going yesterday to get it in the carport but it wont budge, well start, a completely full tank of gas and there it stays on base. How stressful. I think buying it was the worse thing ever, but it has been nice to have two vehicles. That is how life goes I guess, you buy something and you got to keep up with it. My forehead has broke out in zits, I use to hardly ever get them, now its like playing connect the dots, how sad! They are little and they hurt super bad. I just wish they never existed. I had to go get diapers last night and I was so embarrassed. Eh, life goes on. I called my grandma up last night and had a good cry, it was just what I needed. She is the best and the only one lately I can talk to. Thank heaven for wonderful grandparents. (I have good parents just don't talk much, anymore)

Allergic Reactions

When we went to the Everett Mall this last Sunday, Addyson's entire body had red spots everywhere as well as big huge rashes. I thought it was our laundry detergent but I found out the next morning when I was giving her a bath that it was her baby wash. I checked it before but I guess I never really read it fully. The wash has a type of Sulfate in it. Josh is allergic to sulfate & so is Addyson. All I remember is the abbr. and one of them was SLS. That is an ingredient in most care products that is cheap. It is made to dry out your skin anyways, but being allergic to it makes it worse. I buy treseme shampoo (sadly its cheap) but I use it because it works for me, but not for my family. I am going to have to go to a salon and buy some expensive shampoo for us. The soaps I can't use for Addyson are Johnson's Shea butter wash, lavender shampoo & wash (the calming lotion & wash) and Alveno, Natural kind. I am going to test them all but I am definitely not using the Shea Butter or the Lavendar. I haven't checked the Baby Magic line but I am sure they have the same we will start researching that. I have no clue what I am going to do. I might make an appointment for it. I was going to make an appointment for her because I am not sure why she isn't feeling well but apparently Naval Hospital doesn't believe in working ever, its a hospital! So today I would take her in but she is acting like she is better. I am thinking strongly that I should. I just don't want to be a mom that is constantly at the drs. for no reason. She's been sleeping fine still and she is back to being a good eater. Now Josh is sick and myself so we're just sick of being sick!

diet downhill

I have lost around 7 lbs. since I started my "diet" but lets just say I ruined it this weekend with goodies. I need more control over myself. Josh, Addyson, and I are all sick again. Addyson is looking better except her nose looks sore. Josh and I both have super sore throats. And just my luck, its the time of the month I dread. I just dont feel good at all. I need to work otu super bad, but the rain is making me tired & wanting to sleep to get better. But we all know taking care of a little princess isn't going to stop. I'm going to try and do good the rest of the week & weekend since I cheated yesterday and had some oreos. No cheat for me this weekend. I can't wait until I dont have to have a cheat day. if I didn't graduate highschool maybe this would have NEVER happened. (They say after highschool you gain five pounds, well I can 40+ (baby weight) )

Addyson's do.

Just got done fixing Addyson's hair. She's been having crazy hair lately and it needed to be contained.

Vibram FiveFingers

Vibram FiveFingers

These are our new fave thing. Toe shoes as we call them. I think they are fun & I think I'd love them. Josh is obsessed!

the new do.

Josh and Addyson came to the salon with me to get my hair done, I knew it was going to take a while but I didn't think it was going to take three hours. The lady took forever and she was a little sloppy in her work, she got so much of the dye on my skin than my head. Josh was such a big help he kept Addyson entertained, she didn't make much noise. I almost jumped out of my chair when this snotty woman who was with her daughter getting her hair done was talking trash about my daughter. Luckily one of the stylist put her in her place. My hair is now, MOCHA! I chose the new color they got in the salon. I love it but I hate my bangs. I feel as if nobody can save my bangs. They always turn out crappy. I'm happy with it, but it cost so much, I sometimes just want to go to school so I can become an awesome stylist and do my own hair!

just a thought....

Tonight Josh & I went out for a date. Mandy & Joe went to dinner with her parents meanwhile we went to the store to get little miss some formula. We had to kill some time so we went to the NEX to just eat a little Rice King (oh yumm {sarcasm}) and look at super cute summer clothes for Addyson. I know she has a variety to choose from already but I can't resist! Especially when we are going home for Auntie Jessa & Alisha's graduation (I and Josh's sisters). It wasn't as pleasant as I would have liked it. Addyson was a little terror when we were trying to eat some food, she was throwing a huge fit. We went back to the Johnson's and I was just praying she wasn't going to be hard to handle. She was a peach. She went to sleep.

We went to see TRUE GRIT. I thought it was a good movie, makes you think about some things in life. Josh and I both agree we would like to live in that time. Where working for something meant more than buying a video game or even a gaming system. I give it four stars, maybe pushing five. I'm so thankful that Mandy, Joe, & their parents were willing to watch Addyson for us, as much as I did miss her, it was nice to do something with Josh. I still feel really bad that we had them watch Addyson when it was Joe's last night being home. He's going to his ship for work ups. Which is not what I am looking forward to with Josh. Mandy is so strong, I admire her. I am glad that she has her parents close. Thinking about it so am I! I am so glad that Josh is still being stationed in the state of Washington. {Mandy if you're reading this, I'll miss ya & hope time flies and soon Joe will be with you guys again!}

M.I.A.

Last night Josh came home and we just decided to head to Burlington for dinner. He took his girls out. We were going to go on our "date" to a movie there but since Addyson has been not sleeping very well until later we just decided to go to the movie theatre here in town. Addyson did really well at dinner, we ate at the outback which is expensive but really good. She ate bread & some potato. I feel bad for giving her so much of our food since she is nearly 8 months but at least I know she'll like certain foods. It was nice to just leave and not know where exactly we'll be eating. We chose on the way there, I got carsick horribly because I was looking at the cell for places to eat. Addyson also slept until 8 am this morning, only because I had to wake up at 1 am to feed her, and now she is happy baby this morning crawling after the dogs.

Despicable Me.

I rented Despicable Me from redbox, which Josh has been trying to get me to rent it off PPV for days, but I rather save $4 than spend $5. This little girl is my favorite, she is so cute, made me excited for when Addyson gets older. (Her Dad is going to be wrapped around her finger!)

It's so FLUFFY!!

If you lose something Addyson will find it!

Lately little Ms. has been finding lots of neat things that I miss when I am cleaning and thinks they would be a tasty treat and put it right in the mouth! I guess I better STOP being LAZY and clean better. The last few days have been really rough. Addyson has been throwing the biggest fits of all time. I think she is getting ready to cut a tooth or is getting a really bad cold. Her nose today has been super runny. Its clear snot all down her face. (Not to gross anyone out) but I have to have a wipe or tissue in my hand at all times. So when I got back from the NEX & Josh was totally freaking out about how cranky she is. I gave her some Tylenol and orajel and put her in her crib since she wouldn't take her bottle and after a few minutes I brought her down here. Happy little girl for now, she has been "army" crawling everywhere. She just recently crawled to where Paco was eating and if anyone knows Paco goes to the dog bowl and gets one piece and goes somewhere else to eat it well she just happened to be eyeing' the one piece he dropped and swiped it and put it in her mouth. Talk about father like daughter. Josh's parents told me that he use to do that when he was little.

Valentine's Day is coming....

Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
5 egg yolks
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup plus
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 egg whites, lightly beaten
1/3 cup ground walnuts
1 1/2 cups seedless raspberry jam

Instructions In a large bowl, mix the flour, egg yolks, butter, 1/2 cup sugar and vanilla extract, then knead until it forms a soft dough. Chill for 30 minutes. On a floured surface, roll the dough to 1/8 inch thick. Cut a heart for the bottom of the cookie sandwich, and a heart with a smaller heart cut in it for the top. Brush the tops with the egg whites. Mix the walnuts with the 2 tablespoons of sugar and sprinkle on the cookie tops. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 10 minutes. Cool. Spread the bottom hearts with a layer of jam and put the tops on. Makes about 26.

I have an idea about making a heart shape cake out of my grandma's famous cake recipe. I wonder if the frosting will go with it too? Just for my lovebug<3
Homemade or box brownies. After you have your brownies made you can have a heart shape stenzel and some powdered sugar to make this.

Gifts for children to wear...

Fudge candy?
Ingredients
DARK CHOCOLATE LAYER:
1 1/4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
Dash of salt
WHITE CHOCOLATE LAYER:
1 1/4 cups white chocolate chips
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
Dash of salt
OTHER INGREDIENTS AND MATERIALS:
Aluminum foil
64 conversation hearts
64 red foil bonbon cups or mini muffin cups
Clear or red cellophane wrap, cut into 64 5- by 6-inch rectangles
Sparkly pipe cleaners in red, pink, or silver

Instructions
Line an 8-inch square pan with aluminum foil. Set aside.
In a medium-size, microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate layer ingredients. Microwave the mixture on high at 30-second intervals until the chocolate is melted (about a minute), stirring at each interval. When the mixture's smooth, use a spatula to spread it evenly into the prepared pan.
In another medium-size microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate layer ingredients. Repeat the melting process as described in step 2, but stir at 20-second intervals, as white chocolate tends to scorch easily. Spread the white chocolate evenly over the dark chocolate layer.
While the fudge is still warm, use a knife to gently score it into 1-inch squares, then put a candy heart on top of each square.
Chill the fudge uncovered in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until firm. Lift the foil to remove the fudge from the pan and place the whole hunk of fudge on a cutting board. Use a large knife (a parent's job) to cut apart the squares, then peel off the foil from the bottom.
Place each fudge square into a foil bonbon cup or mini muffin cup. Center the cup on a cellophane square and wrap it as shown on page 53, using 1-inch pieces of pipe cleaner to secure the ends. Makes 64 bite-size pieces. Store at room temperature or in the refrigerator for added firmness.

I've been trying to make Addyson bows as best as I can, I'm just a started. Also learned and made a tutu for Addy girl. I'm planning a trip to Michaels to see if I can get some dicounted ribbon :)
