drive-inn movies & the pool; fun family weekend

This weekend we went to the drive-in movies. They were playing HOP (the new Easter movie about the Easter Bunny) and Gnomeo and Juliet. The first feature was the movie HOP, we liked it, it wasn't super good but it was fun to watch. Josh had to get jelly beans to go along with the theme, I guess because the bunny pooped out jelly beans? He's strange. Addyson hasn't been to the movies since she was a month old and we went with Mandy and Connor (he was about a week old or something like that) so it has been a while. It was terrible at first, she was all over the place, screaming, crying, wouldn't take her bottle. So before the movie started I strapped her into the car seat and gave her the bottle and she was out! She was so tired. She slept the entire time the movie was going. Then the second feature came on and apparently Josh couldn't handle the 2nd movie. I was the only one that watched half of it and I finally said ok, time to go, so we went home. Addyson went straight to bed and all of a sudden Josh was full of energy. He thought it would be fun to have a "camp out" in the living room. I repeated myself several times saying "NO," but he didn't take that for an answer. We were miserable all night. We both in our minds were thinking we were going to go to our bed, but we never did. We suffered all day of lack of sleep. Saturday came and we didn't do anything really during the day, but we packed up our swim bag and went to the pool. Addyson sure has an attitude, she was determined to let me let her go so she can go play by herself, but she doesn't know she can't swim and touch the bottom to walk. I also realized how many kids don't have very good manners. Kids would come up and take the noodles (floating devices) away from the babies. They also would fling water at Addyson (well in her direction) and one kid hit her, which Josh wasn't keeping his cool with that and told the kid he needs to be careful as Addyson was crying. But the kid was nice enough to say sorry, I think. I hope that we, as parents, teach Addyson how to be respectful in any environment she is in, even if its a place you can have tons of fun. She is so smart and I just love her to pieces and I know Josh feels the same way, who couldn't love her?!
