walk, walk, and SEAL!
Today we got together with Mandy, Joe, Brady, and her mom Trista, at Deception Pass to enjoy the outdoors. We didn't walk much because eight month pregnant ladies won't make it back up a hill very easily, but it was nice to get out and enjoy the day. It wasn't a sunny day, but the air was warm and it felt nice to get out of the house and not watch t.v.. Joe had to go to work so it was just Josh with the girls walking around downtown looking at all the shops. Most of them were closed because of the them being opened all weekend for "Holland Happenings." After we were done looking around I wanted to go home and put my feet up they were getting a little swollen, I had to take off my wedding ring before my hands got so fat they'd be stuck. Josh really wanted to go back to Deception Pass to walk more. I was dragging my feet but I decided why not. We went across the bridge to some beach place to walk on an island that you could see the bridge perfectly. It was a long hike. I had to stop a lot to take a break. Josh had to push me up the hill. I know I can do this kind of stuff but its just hard with a few extra pounds. When we were enjoying the view I happened to be looking at the water and seeing something in the water. I told Josh to "LOOK, it's a sea otter" which I was totally wrong! It was a SEAL! It was amazing. I was jumping up and down in happiness. Seeing wildlife like that is amazing to me. Very different from Elk & Deer. We didn't have our cameras, which I almost cried, but Josh tried his best to get a picture with his cellphone. Josh stayed along the edge of the island while I went around the trees because I was kind of scared. Josh told me to "look!" and when I did there happened to be not one but two seals! They were just floating and swimming along. when they'd go under the water there backs would come out and they looked exactly like this image. Being here has brought many opportunities to us in seeing all these things. We seen dolphins and now a seal! We need to see a whale next, I think.
